A forgotten traditional Indian race game played in the Uttara Kannada and Malenadu regions of Karnataka. It is dubbed as Tablan in English. Taabla is played with four stick-dice (called as Kocchu Kannada) or four cowrie shells, 24 pawns which are painted on one side and unpainted on the other side.

These stick-dice are tossed in the air twice or thrice before they are hit the ground. The pawns are moved accordingly, with the strategic goal of ‘closing’ the opponent’s rows.

The package consists of a silk embroidered game board, 24 (12 per player) pawns, 4 stick-dice, 4 cowrie shells, and the instruction leaflet.
