One of the most recognised and famed heritage buildings in the world, the Mysore Palace is the official royal residence of the Wadiyar dynasty that ruled the kingdom. Completed in 1912 in the place of a wooden palace, it is biggest of the ‘seven palaces’ in the city and stands on the land commonly known as ‘puragiri’. It boasts of more than 6 million visitors annually and has many other historic buildings on its sprawling campus.
The ornate craftwork unmistakably and instantly enhances the aesthetic ambience of any interior and lends historic gravity to it. It can be lit up from within with tiny electric bulbs.
